Grandma Gagliardi's meatballs were the best! Original recipe written down by Auntie Nan but the amounts were not measured. I have added what I think are about the right proportions. Dad thinks they are closest to his mother's meatball yet.

Mrs. LeMay's really good salsa. She pours into pint containers and freezes.

Tried other recipes and think this is the best. Too much Karo makes the caramel 'plastic' but 1 tablespoon keeps the sugar from crystallizing. Makes 2 cups.

Fast chicken soup base using rotisserie chicken and chicken stock. Very thick soup if whole bag of noodles is used. Double recipe for enough to share or for lots of leftovers.

Just like Grandma Kaiser used to make.

Dress up chicken with this fresh, tomato-mayonnaise sauce. Poaching the chicken and letting it cool in the liquid keeps the meat juicy and moist. It can be served hot or cold and, with this cooking method, it keeps well and tastes great the second day.

Obviously, this recipe only makes a 'little bit.' Double, triple, or quadruple to make a big pot.

Grandmas from all around can be proud of this unique recipe that brings fabulous results. Sliced apples are mounded in a prepared pie shell, covered with a latticed crust, and just before slipping into the oven, doused with a sugary butter syrup.'

Sam, Grandma Kaiser's rule of thumb was one potato per person and one for the pot. That's definitely a 'side dish' portion. Just as 'hard' meatballs were a no-no, 'rubbery' potatoes were the kiss of death.

After years of making Beef Stew, we thought this was the best. For 'non-greasy' stew do not brown the meat first. Just follow the directions. Using this recipe I found there is no need to thicken the juices for gravy...it thickens itself!
